Thin Caliper

For many applications requiring thin caliper, such as butt splicing, tape thickness can be critical. A polyester backing can be as thin as 1 mil, yet still have very high dimensional strength properties.

Tensile Strength

For many applications that require thin caliper and very high tensile properties, a polyester backing can be ideal. With tensile properties ranging from 20 lbs./in. (1 mil backing thickness) to 120 lbs./in. (5 mil backing thickness), polyester films are some of the strongest backings available.

Long Term Aging

The aging characteristics of our acrylic adhesives allow these products to work well for many long term holding and decorative applications. Where long term clarity is a requirement, transparent polyester backings, coatedwith acrylic adhesives, should be evaluated.

Temperature Resistant

For many applications that require exposure to temperatures below 350° F (177° C) for one hour, polyester backings can deliver excellent performance.
